SPEED WINS. WE BUILD IT.

Your competition is getting faster. Every season, the gap between making varsity and sitting the bench gets smaller. That extra step of acceleration, that burst off the line: these aren't nice-to-haves anymore. They're requirements.

Here's the truth: speed isn't something you're born with. Speed is a skill that can be developed through proven training protocols. But not all speed training programs are created equal.

Generic group sessions won't unlock your explosive potential. Cookie-cutter drills without proper coaching won't fix your mechanics. Facilities that prioritize quantity over quality won't give you the individualized attention needed to actually get faster.

At Spade Athletics, we don't just run drills. We engineer speed development.

Every athlete in our speed training program works with coaches who understand sprint performance biomechanics. Our speed development training focuses on three critical components:

Perfect Sprint Mechanics
Athletic Performance

We break down your running form and rebuild it with precision, eliminating energy leaks and maximizing efficiency.

Explosive Acceleration
Precision Training

Through targeted speed development drills and plyometric work, we train your nervous system to fire faster and generate more power.

Sport-Specific Application
Performance Optimization

We tailor your program to your position and sport demands, whether you need straight-line speed or multi-directional agility.

Our attention to detail means you don't just get faster, you move with precision, power, and purpose. Because only one thing separates good from unstoppable: speed is king.

COMPREHENSIVE SPEED DEVELOPMENT TRAINING THAT DELIVERS RESULT

Our speed training programs combine proven methodology with individualized coaching to create explosive athletes. Here's what you get:

Sprint Mechanics & Explosive Acceleration

We analyze and refine your running form through video analysis and real-time coaching: foot strike, arm drive, hip positioning, stride frequency. Through resisted sprints, sled work, and reactive speed development drills, we eliminate inefficiencies while training your nervous system to generate maximum power in minimal time.

Maximum Velocity & Multi-Directional Speed

Our speed and agility program builds your capacity to reach higher top-end speeds while developing the reactive strength needed to change direction explosively. You'll accelerate, decelerate, and redirect without losing momentum, which is critical for sports requiring multi-directional movement.

Sport-Specific Programming & Performance Tracking

Your speed development training is tailored to your sport's demands and your position. We track 10-yard dash, 40-yard dash, and change of direction times throughout your training, ensuring measurable progress you can see in the data.

COMPREHENSIVE SPEED ASSESSMENT

Every athlete begins with a detailed evaluation. We measure your 10-yard dash, 40-yard dash, change of direction times, and analyze sprint mechanics through video assessment. This data becomes the foundation of your personalized speed training program, identifying your specific limiters and building your roadmap to explosive speed development.

02

INDIVIDUALIZED SPEED PROGRAMMING

Based on your assessment, we design a customized speed development training plan tailored to your sport and goals. Our coaches track your progress weekly, adjusting intensity and drill selection to ensure continuous improvement. Every session focuses on perfecting key speed components while building on what you've already developed.

MEASURABLE SPEED GAINS

We re-test your speed metrics every four weeks, showing exact improvements in acceleration, top-end velocity, and change of direction. You'll start making plays you couldn't make before, beat defenders who used to catch you, and earn starting positions you were fighting for. Our athletes don't hope they're getting faster. The data proves it.

Your speed development questions answered

Everything you need to know about training like an athlete at Spade Athletics.

How long does it take to see results from speed training?

Most athletes notice improvements in mechanics within 2-3 weeks. Measurable speed gains typically appear within 4-6 weeks of consistent training. Significant speed development (the kind that changes your competitive level) requires 12-16 weeks of dedicated work. We re-test every athlete monthly to track exact progress.

What makes Spade Athletics' speed development training different?

Three things: individualized coaching, combined speed and strength programming, and proven results. Unlike facilities running generic group sessions, every athlete receives personalized programming based on their assessment and goals. We integrate strength training with speed work because explosive power and sprint mechanics work together. We've sent over 100 athletes to college sports using these exact protocols.

Do you offer speed training programs for youth athletes?

Absolutely. Our youth athletic performance training starts with athletes as young as 8 years old. At this age, proper sprint mechanics are critical. Bad habits developed early become harder to fix later. We focus on technique, progressive loading, and age-appropriate training volumes so athletes learn proper speed development from the beginning.

What's the difference between speed training and agility training?

Speed training focuses on straight-line acceleration and maximum velocity (think track sprints or football 40-yard dashes). Agility training emphasizes change of direction and reactive movement. Our speed and agility program combines both because most sports require explosive straight-line speed AND the ability to change direction without losing momentum.

How often should athletes participate in speed development training?

For optimal results, we recommend 2-3 sessions per week during off-season and 1-2 sessions during in-season maintenance. Speed development requires high-intensity work, which means proper recovery is essential. Our coaches design your weekly frequency based on your sport's demands, current training load, and recovery capacity.

How do you measure speed improvement?

We use multiple metrics: 10-yard dash times (acceleration), 40-yard dash times (combined acceleration and top-end speed), flying 10s (maximum velocity), pro agility times (change of direction), and video analysis of sprint mechanics. Every athlete is re-tested every 4 weeks to track exact improvements with specific numbers.
